I'm new here and a mum to an 11 year old girl with T1D who was diagnosed at the age of 20 months. I have one other child, aged 13, who does not have diabetes. Both kids are from my previous marriage.
Now I am engaged to a man who is the 2nd born in a family of 3 boys. Both of his brothers were diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes when they reached 12 and 13 years of age, respectively. He was the middle kid it decided to skip.
We were wondering about our chances are of having a baby with T1D, since it may well be genetically linked, on both sides.
Anyone have a similar experience?
