I cannot figure out how to do an extended bolus with Omnipod 5. The training says to click the “extended bolus” button on the bolus page, but none ever appears! What am I missing?

Use the “switch mode” button and set pump in “manual”. The extended bolus should now be available. I do this for every meal.

I guess mine is faulty. I really use Manual most of the time, and I do not see the extended bolts button. I guess I’ll make a call! Thanks!

Im sorry. It only works in Manual but go to Bolus under settings and make sure it’s turned on.

Hi Becca! As an option, you could try another way. I’m new to the Omnipod 5 myself and often used extended boluses on my Omnipod Dash. On one of the Juicebox Podcasts, an Omnipod trainer talked about doing the prebolus insulin for whatever amount you plan to take upfront for the extended bolus, and then allowing the Automated Mode give you the rest over time as it watches your blood sugar fluctuate. She said it pretty much does the same thing as running Extended Bolus in Manual mode. I think it’s episode 1083. All of the special Omnipod 5 episodes are really helpful, I’ve found.
