One of those days

It all started when I woke up… 40 minutes late. Because I was being rushed out of the door, I didn’t have a chance to get my normal breakfast of (gasp) cereal and a granola bar. I get to school and ate their breakfast. Their biscuits seems to change every time I try to take insulin for them. 6u of humalog will either send me to 350 or drop me to 50. Today it dropped me to 43, twenty minutes before lunch. I correct and bolus for lunch and I thought I would be good for the rest of the day.

But alas, no. School ended and I checked again, 284… I guess I overcorrected the hypo a little. I was considering taking 2 units of humalog, but decided against it. Good thing I did. After track practice (and not a very hard practice either) I was at 48! I had no insulin or anything, and yet somehow i drop 240 points in 2 hours.

Now I’m at home, eating a box of raisins, and hoping to get my bg back to normal and keep it there.

Have any of y’all had frusterating days like this?

yup…all the time…

Yep! Some days are like a roller coaster.

Sometimes it’s best just to put it behind you and start a fresh day tomorrow!

Took a nap, woke up, and now I’m at 161! I think Its starting to get back under control…finally

Glad to hear it’s better. i have days like this all the time. You correct a low, and it makes you high, you correct that high, and you go low again. it’s so aggravating, i know especially with a busy schedule including track practice, or any of the other fun things we choose to be a part of in school.

gah… woke up at 43. This exam is going to be fun this morning.

Oh bless your heart.
Yeah I do get them days and its frusterating and it knocks me out towards bedtime.
I hope it works out for you.
