I've not posted here for a long time but my numbers have slowly started creeping up regardless of how little carbs I eat. My morning numbers are now in the 7.0 - 7.5 range and any small amount of carbs (5g) will spike me past 7.8, sometimes up to 9.0 - 10.0. My last A1C was 6.3 but I think this is largely due to eating very little carbs and walking almost every day after meals.
I have a Drs appointment today and will be asking to see an Endo as I think its time (there's only so much I can do). I am 155lbs and have been jogging for the last 20 years so I'm in pretty good health other than the D.
My questions is... I doubt that insulin will be prescribed with my A1C at 6.3 so are there any other medications which are relatively safe that could help with my numbers, especially post meal? I'm currently on 2 x 500mg Metformin but I don't think it has done anything since I started taking about a year ago.
As always, I appreciate your help...
