hi jamie, i hope you didnt misunderstand my post.
i definitely understood what you were intending to say, i might have expressed myself not very clearly.
i am not angry at you for sure, more am i angry at this dr. or what he calls himself for saying that he found a cure.

My comments were not hateful... don't you think you're overeacting a tad bit here? You posted a link to a site that is so obviously a hoax, I'm not sure why you would even take it seriously.. it seems that maybe you did actually believe that nonsense and I for one don't get why you would? This will be my last comment on this post, it seems you're the one who thinks you're above it all maybe?
I think many of us do have a trigger about "The Cure." There are lots of charlatans out there who prey on us, claiming that their raw vegan paleo colon cleanse cures diabetes. And it makes our blood boil. But this isn't personal and lots of people come here and ask questions about these sorts of things and it is vital that we engage in a helpful discussion. If we convince a single person to not stop their insulin because they are doing the raw vegan paleo colon cleanse, then we will have made the world a better place. The way to do it is through a healthy discussion. We should ask questions, "has the claim every been studied scientifically?" "Does the proponent have any credibility?" If someone comes here and claims they cured their diabetes with a raw vegan paleo colon cleanse, I'd like to hear their story even if I think the whole thing is a crock. Maybe someday someone will show up with some really interesting thing they have discovered which helps their diabetes. I want to hear that even if it means wadding through some chaff. I want this to be a place that anyone can tell their story.
Vigorous discussion by people with differing viewpoints is the reason tuD is so valuable. But the utility of this site breaks down when we don't show each other respect.
Quacks making money from the vulnerable makes many of us see red, but we all need to keep our community values in mind irregardless of the topic and our feelings about it.
Alrighty, naughty diabetic night orb, you just pushed one of my hot buttons...
"irregardless"
Grrrrrrr.....
:-) :-) :-)
I guess the orb is getting a bit dim in his old age. My mom, an English major, would not approve.
From Merriam-Webster online:
Irregardless originated in dialectal American speech in the early 20th century. Its fairly widespread use in speech called it to the attention of usage commentators as early as 1927. The most frequently repeated remark about it is that “there is no such word.” There is such a word, however. It is still used primarily in speech, although it can be found from time to time in edited prose. Its reputation has not risen over the years, and it is still a long way from general acceptance. Use regardless instead.
Guilty as charged.
