I have a Dexcom inserted in my abdomen. About two days ago I started experiencing severe pain with the sensor to the point where I’m getting nauseous and sweaty and I have to sit for a while to recover. It’s only when I stand up (which is all the time) that it hurts. It wasn’t like this a couple days ago. Is there something I could do to remedy it?
Pull the sensor. My experience is that it only gets worse, not better.
And call Dexcom. They will send you a new one.
Alright. Thanks! Appreciate it. Kinda sad that it had to come to ripping it out but I’m over almost throwing up from pain and holding an ice pack to it. Thanks again!
You might want to call your doctor to make sure you do not have a an additional problem.
Those filaments are really fine and not rigid, but when they start impinging on your muscle sheath they hurt like the dickens. Dexcom regards a bad insertion as a valid reason for a replacement, so yeah, call 'em.
