Please share your experiences with me

Thanks Cathy. It is a very difficult task. I see it as a moving target. You have to find a path to follow that will help you reach your goal which you can follow for the rest of your life. Otherwise you will maybe lose the weight, but then it will come back if you don’t change your habits. The REAL goal is long term. To reach and maintain a healthy weight and lifestyle. It really is a lot like finding your way with diabetes. Just a different motivation.

WOW~! Thanks for the inspiration. You’re right, it is a moving target…or trying to cross the prairies of SD…before the interstates were built. I just got back from western SD and to please my dh, I didn’t take the interstate, because it’s longer uses more gas. I took the “back door” way to my home. Well, that’s fine if you have a map and you know where you are going. But around here, people give directions by landmarks, so when I knew I was lost, I stopped in a small town gas station and asked for directions, my turn off was by the house with the red barn. Well aside from having a lot of red barns, there wasn’t a red barn there were four brown barns, but no red one.
“OH, that’s right they painted it five years ago”…needless to say, I’m home, but not by the directions that were given me. I had to find my own way back to the main highway. Just like with diabetes, we have to find OUR way OUR body’s way of dealing with the disease. AND just like with weight, plans are good ways to start, but, sometimes we have to tweek them OUR way, OUR body’s way of losing weight. The light finally went on, Thanks, Randy.

So glad I was able to share something that makes a difference for you. I like a lot of my ideas and views, but sometimes it seems to be comfusing for most people. I figure I’m just a little off kiolter to the majority. And thanks to you too Cathy. I really needed a little validation today. You just have to love this community.
