Positive

Got my BFP (big fat positive) yesterday at DPO10.

It was very faint, but definitely a line.

I hope this is a strong and sticky baby.

My motivation to keep my blood sugars under control and to managed my diet just got an enormous boost.

YAY!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Congratulations!! We’re all sending baby dust your way and anything else out there to ensure a “strong & sticky baby” asyou said.
Way to go!

Congrats!
Hope everything goes well.

I was curious and checked your profile.
Are you actually on MDI? If yes, what is your basal insulin?

I’m asking because I plan to have a baby sometime in the future (not near future, but at some point in my life I’d like to!), and to my knowledge, there are few mothers-to-be who don’t have a pump.
I know that Levemir and Lantus are not approved during pregnancies. So, recently when I got the chance to talk to a doctor (not mine) about it, he admitted that he usually has his patients switch to NPH or pump.
So I’m always wondering how those who stick with shots handle it.

Congrats!! Sending best wishes for all good things for you and baby!

Yayyy – Congrats!!! Amazing what pregnancy does for motivation (and so quickly), huh?

yay!!! Happy thoughts to you and your sticky baby!!

I used NPH for the first trimester while her main organs were developing. Then, at week 15 I switched back to Levemir because NPH put me in 7 insulin shock comas during the first trimester. My OB checked with a doc that is on the insulin research team before allowing me to switch back and they said that while Levemir wasn’t “approved” during pregnancy yet, in the five years they have been researching it, they have found NO issues. With Lantus, they found if used during pregnancy, it interfered with the baby’s growth hormones. I"m not sure to what extent though.

I used Apidra throughout pregnancy. They said that since the short acting insulin is only in the body for a short amount of time, they dont need to have any of them “approved” for pregnancy.

My newborn is six days old now and is just perfect. Good luck to you!!
