I looked it up, Josephine, you didn’t mix anything up or leave anything out. It’s perfect.

Man is born free and everywhere in chains. Plato could be Socrates No they are from Rousseau’s EMILE, I think.

Attention to health is life’s greatest hindrance. Plato.
For a man (woman) to conquer himself is the first and noblest of all victories.
Also remember a book a JB. Keane Letters of an Irish Publican, it was hilarious, an old woman with a drink problem used to go into the pub for drink pretending she was gonna bake cakes with it. One day a cheeky young fella said, sure we all know your drinking the drink yourself, she turned around and said "May your rear end close up and fester ". There was more but I can’t remember it. Great book.
"The purpose of life, after all, is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experiences"

“Don’t go around saying the world owes you a living; the world owes you nothing; it was here first” I like that one, especially when I feel hard done by and everyones out to get me down!

I love all ya’s… but if zombies are chasing us, I’m going to trip yer butt
“Life is hard” “but God is good.” For years this was the greeting and response of a church I attending. I still remember it, and it comforts me, believe it or not. Not that God is out to get us, but that life is just that, life, and we do what we can, and let God take care of the rest. Anyways, it makes sense to me.

The Roosevelt women are a great source of quotes:
“No good deed goes unpunished.” - Eleanor Roosevelt
“If you don’t have anything nice to say . . . come sit next to me.” - Alice Roosevelt (daughter of Teddy).
They dont make them like they used to…but then again, they never did.
