Hi everyone. Looking to get peoples feed back. I am going on 30 next year and been type 1 for almost 10 years. Waanna know if any of you have similar ratios for a adult male. I have a insuline to carb ratio of the falowing.
Breakfest: 1:09
Lunch: 1:10
Super: 1:14
My correction is 1 unit drops my bg by 3mmol. I use 25 units of lantus. Eat around 200 carbs a day but nutritionist told me to eat 300 cause of my physical life style. If a skip lunch or super i am in big trouble (hypo for shur). And if i do somethging physical 1 after injection its often trouble also. For info i am 6.2 feet 195 lbs. Got to kids. Mathilde and Vincent both non did. Waiting for responses.
Hi Gerry. I think dosage is related to several factors, but I think insulin sensitivity is more significant than size. I'm female, and much smaller than you and yet my numbers aren't all that different (I'm also LADA/Type 1, diagnosed 5 years ago though also much older than you.) Mine are 1:5, 1:10 and 1:18. One unit drops me 42 during the day and 62 at night compared to your 3 which is 54. I don't use long -acting as I'm on a pump, but my TDD is about 20. I eat less carbs than you do.
If you are going low if you skip a meal you might be taking too much basal. Are you generally in target between meals, waking and at bedtime?
