Report Analysis Medtronic Enlite vs Dexcom G4

Wow!
Well, here is at least one other who is willing to sacrifice 5 minutes a day to enter all of that.. already doing it in excel. I have just not found a way to calculate etc. So would be happy if you would like to post what you use or have. :)

Hi Richard,
I'm indeed sadly enough temporarily lost in Europe. What I understand from Medtronic management is that the sensor that's being provided in Europe comes from a different line of production, but that's all I know. This Spring, I have had one time that I was unable to get sensors, and my rep told me that Medtronic was out of stock. Don't ask me how that's possible, all I can say is that it's very weird, and I would even think about a production problems. But, I contacted someone in sensor development at Medtronic and a week later, I had my box of sensors.
If I may ask, the 18 months, which country are we then talking about?

I am not familiar with the Enlite, and its availability, but I know it was introduced in the US very recently. It was introduced in parts of Europe several years ago, so I am told. I therefore assumed you live in Europe and get your supplies there. Am I wrong?

By the way, there are many people viewing your study on Facebook, and there are many thanks being given. It is a very well received post in several Facebook groups.

Hi George- I read your report and completely agree with your assessment of the Dexcom cgm and the Medtronic pumps being the superior products. I wore the Medtronic/Elite for one week along with my own Dexcom G4 and found the Dexcom to be much more accurate. I also wore the Animas Ping with my Medtronic and found the Animas cumbersome to use. In 1997 I founded an organization www.type1diabeteslounge.org which offers support and eduction for adults with T1D. So the reps offer me trials on their products in hopes I will promote them. I'm very interested in the Roche/Dexcom pump you mention but don't find anything about it. I only see an old article using the Dexcom 7+ which is obsolete. I'm wondering what you know about this. Thanks!

Hi, and thank you for your comment. The announcement about the Roche-Decom cooperation was made about 2 years ago, and I know little about what's happening. All I know (Roche internal network) is that the launch was delayed to 2014. When browsing in the internet, you only find short notices about the project, but no detailed information. Here is one example:
Roche, DexCom to Partner on Insulin Delivery Systems
I'll go fishing a little bit, see what I can find out.
