Self Management

I got an email today from Diabetic Connect it contained some recipes for late night low carb munchies and 3 tips to better D management. The first 2 were about trial and error food choices and not ignoring the emotional side of D. The third one makes such perfect sense to me. It said:
"The biggest thing to remember in order to have really good diabetes self-management skills is to not live by anyone else’s rules. Create your own management program and daily routine. Then take it to your doctor so he or she can assist you wherever you need it. You should have a care team made up of your doctor and any other medical professionals you choose to help you with your diabetes, as well as close friends and family that can help support you in your diabetes management. But you should be at the center of your team making the decisions and taking the steps to better health. Everyone else is just there to help along the way."
I feel as though I am at the center of my team. My endo and CDE are there to help, but TuD is a major part of my support staff and I continue to learn something new here just about every day.

clare you are so right
i agree with you

TuD is important to me as well. I appreciate the common crowd sourced knowledge.
