Does anyone use applications for their smart phone in order to keep track of your BS results or anything related to diabetes? Are there any good apps out there you know of? I do not have an Iphone or Droid but wanted to know if anyone uses one with apps for their diabetes?
Anyone know how to create apps for smart phones?
The management of diabetes data can be done with an app on the device or by accessing an online service. The latter is an approach we have choosen for our free project Glucosurfer.org. This way we can also support ordinary mobile phones via WAP. For smart phones like the iPhone and Android we offer a simple HTML form for logging.
You can use the following links with your phone to get a feeling for the concept:
Mobile phone:
http://www.glucosurfer.org/wap?logon
&user=tudiabetes
&password=passme
&language=en
Smart phone:
http://www.glucosurfer.org/tiny?logon
&user=tudiabetes
&password=passme
&language=en
The log can be shared with other persons of your choice by creating and sharing a link. As an example you can click here to visit my personal log.
The service is free of charge but be aware that the provider will bill you the online access. Thus you should have a sufficient WAP / Web plan to use the service daily.
