I’m slowly getting my type II BG under control. Last thur I tested 116!!! And at the VA Dr. I tipped the scales at 282. I lost 11 lbs in 3 weeks and a total of 16 lbs. My question is, if and when I get this BG under control and back to normal, will the foot problems go away? My toes are pretty numb and they hurt, along with the balls of my feet.
I would think that your feet just hurt from having extra weight placed on them., Our body parts can only take so much. Stay the course and you’ll be fine.
Great work!
Sadly, neuropathies are common with diabetes, if this what your foot pain is. The good news that neuropathies often heal with controlled BG.
Great progress!
As you further normalize your blood sugar level and weight better improve, the foot problems will also improve.
I know it seems strange, but actually pain is good. It means you have feeling. Sometimes you will get pain as you heal. You have done a great job of getting on top of this. Lots of us have neuropathies. I have carpal tunnel pretty bad and now have to have surgery. But I firmly beleive that if you get your blood sugar tightly controlled, you can totally heal from this. If you read Dr. Bernstein’s story, he had it much worse than you and his completely healed. So stay focused and keep the faith.
My feet were numb and painful the first 2-3 months of diagnosis. The foot problems do get better, but if you run high the problems will come back. Good luck to you.
Congratulations! Try massaging the feet and wear good shoes. Hopefully with better control things will improve. xo
