Spoon Theory

I found this site while looking at another problem. The writer has Lupus, another auto-immune disease, but you can insert type 1 or hypothyroid, and it applies. It is so true and so applicable its scary. It is also a good tool to use for someone who does nor or cannor understand. Carol

Carol i just read the spoon theory and it sure does explain alot. I spent time with my dad on sunday at the nursing home and his nurse was in with him when my pump went off. She asked what that was and i showed her my pump. her answer to me was " I would have never guessed you were so sick" i asked what do you mean so sick and she said well if you are on a pump that means you have real bad diabetes…huh… Is there any good diabetes…LOL Any way she is a nurse … scary… huh… I know different nurses and Drs specialise in different things and i dont expect them to be all knowing but really… And the spoon theory does describe what we go thru well but i’m usually out of spoons quicker than her so maybe I must have really bad diabetes…hhhhmmmm LOL

Very moving & so true. Really appreciate you sharing this. Thank you.
