Sunnnnday!

Just another beautiful day in Sunny Southern CA.
So, we got 2 bikes yesterday! Nothing to impressive… they have wheels, breaks, pedals, and gears. Which is good enough for me. I am really excited to get out and exercise with my hubby and little boy. We are on the hunt for a good priced and good quality trailer/carrier for our little guy.
I haven’t biked in a long time… Well, not since I’ve been prego and dx with T1. So, I’m going to see how my bloodsugar levels respond to my “mild/moderate” activity. I know that when I walk my sugars stay normal or slightly go down. However, when I play softball (slow-pitch) my sugars go up and therefore I have to test and give myself a few units of insulin when i’m playing.
On the quest to lose a few inches. Wish me luck! I’ll keep ya guys posted.

Lindsey-

My husband and I are thinking about purchasing 2 bikes. I see bike riders all the time in SO CAL. Have fun, take your meter and something to bring your bg’s up just incase.

hi Lindsay, for me, biking lowers my sugar right away and then they’ll stay for about 3 hours afterward, test a lot at first, okay? good luck!!!

Awesome! Thanks for the advice! We’ll probably go for a ride tomorrow afternoon. I think I need to go to a bike store and get the quirks all worked out, but other than that we are excited for the bikes!
