I think the idea is sound and has a lot of promise for people with our condition.
we had dana lewis here some time ago to talk with us about this project
we have quite a few members who use this system already. I believe @Mariana11 has it. I know @Nyadach1 does
Old news?
It’s still pretty cool
I believe this system has been out for a few years but I still think it is “new” technology. The open source do-it-yourself systems continue to post updates and improvements identified by the community as needed. These systems are not for everyone but if you are patient and can follow directions they can be a nice path to take. There is an active community online that will help new people and answer questions when putting together your system.
I use a different version of the experimental APS called Loop. I’ve been on it since last November and it has helped my control.
I am totally in love with this OpenAps thing. I am currently upgrading the version with some interesting changes. Has improved my diabetes management. Plus it keeps my husband busy which is also great LOL. Gracias Marie
When the new bluetooth Omnipod system comes out, I wonder how difficult it would be to hack into it and develop some sort of app that would do the same thing, in conjunction with a Dexcom G5?
Mariana - That is a riot !!!
