Dana Lewis explains diabetes and open-source tech to New Zealand programmers

Dana Lewis, collaborating with her husband and others, put together a very early do-it-yourself automated insulin dosing system. It has iterated a bunch and the latest product is smaller and better. This system is known as OpenAPS.

She is smart and talks fast, but in a very understandable and engaging way. When she showed “before” and “after” CGM traces the crowd was audibly impressed. She crams a lot of info into a small amount of time and is able to simplify complex concepts into plain speech.

Enjoy!
