Any t:slimmers out there considering it? I’ve been pumping since 2003 and have never been swayed by upgrade options…until now. I’m hoping that this will not only mean that I can see cgm data on my phone (which would make wearing dresses so much less tricky) but also that there would be cloud uploading of the cgm data. Dexcom Clarity access would be wonderful, but I’m not holding my breath for that.
I’m thinking of switching from Medtronic to T:Slim in Feb 2017, but now am irritated that I need to wait until the X2 comes out so I don’t have to worry about upgrading in such a short amount of time. Frustrating. My understanding is that they had to upgrade because Dexcom switched from radio frequency to bluetooth and they pumps either need to be upgraded to accommodate that or you can send in your old one to be retrofitted if you are going to be using the new dex. I thought the whole point of the T:slim was that you didn’t really need to mess with the “hardware” because the pump is more like a smart phone- you can just upgrade the “software” without getting a whole new pump. Technology, eh!
I would check with Tandem. Tandem is motivated to have you as a client. I ordered and started using my Tslim pump last month. Tandem is going to give me an X2 for free.
