Take advantage of local meetings of CGM wearers

There are 4 kinds of wearers of CGM.

  1. Newbie with zero experience beyond inserting and getting calibrations performed.

  2. Intermediate with a working knowledge of how to make some use of the technology at hand (some are more problematic in that regard as we users know) but who haven’t yet learned all the ins and outs.

  3. The more technical, advanced user who is able and willing to explain the nuances of how to wear, calibrate, and understand the entire CGM system.

  4. The longtime user who doesn’t really care to learn anything more than what he/she has already learned.

Users in groups 1, 2 and 3, mixed together in a meeting can result in a robust exchange of ideas–ideas that just don’t get discussed the same when when talking to manufacturer tech support.

Basically, there’s something in it for groups 1, 2 and 3, and I encourage every CGM wearer to attend a meeting if the opportunity presents itself, even if you have no questions. Your input may be highly appreciated by other attendees.

Where and when is this meeting?

LOCAL, means local to you. I have no idea about your area. Contact either your mfgr’s rep or your local chapter of the Diabetes Society or perhaps ask your endo, I went to a meeting today hosted by MM.

Sorry about that, thought you were announcing something that was planned.

Youtube is another useful tool. You don’t have to be intimidated by asking the same question over and over again. I found that to be the most useful tool for me.
