Yea thats good and it will only get better! what CGMS do you have? MM or Dexcom? I hope dexcom its awesome!
I will start the steroid injections in Mid-October. I, too, have a diagnosis of spinal stenosis. I got the steroids injections, pre-pump, 9 years ago when I had neck and shoulder pain,; They really helped me A LOT, but I shot up to the 300+ range until I, along with my CDE, figured out what to do. I know to expect that my blood sugar levels will be higher, and I will also use a much higher basal rate… I have not had corticosteroids since I have been on the pump. But my current pain management specialist , endo and CDE feel that wecan manage this by working together to devise a good plan.

How long did it take to get out of your system? its been about 3 days for me and its still got me out of wack…
Brian, I frankly do not completely remember,it was maybe about 3 days, not over 4 days…I just know I had to up my lantus from 26 units a day to about 45. I had to lower my in sulin sensitivities and inject more for meals and I was constantly checking and correcting as necessary. I do not recall feeling that sick, as I still went to work. I just had to really cut back the carbs and ate mostly veggies and meats., no fruits, nor breads…
I will see how it works out this time.
God Bless,
Brunetta
I love my Ping! I demoed other pumps and it’s hands down the best. My screen is so bright I can use it to see in the dark and the other thing is that it’s completely waterproof. The moment my feet hit water my blood sugar starts climbing. I stay connected with my Ping and go for it. I love it! Let me know if you have specific questions that you want answered…
Brian, seriously, get both systems at the same time. It is well worth having the CGMS. I have the Dexcom and there’s no way that I’d be able to handle this whole mess without being able to watch it and hopefully try to avoid the high spikes.
As far as the raging… they’ve been giving me xanax to help stabilize my mood as after they gave me my IV steroids, inhaled steroids, and advair I was looking for a fight… LOL! One xanax later, I was back to my normal self.
The other thing is, I feel like I"m STARVING all the time! And ironically, since being in, I’ve lost 4 pounds, but it’s just weird! Speaking of food… it’s time for breakfast!
Haven’t experienced roid rage yet re: what Patrick said. I’m just glad to not be in pain.
