Thank you so much to everyone who welcomed me when I joined tudiabetes! It was definitely a pleasant surprise. Couldn't have come at a better time either as I'm really having trouble dealing with my diagnosis.
I was diagnosed with type II in May 2012 and did well on oral meds until September 2013 when my A1C started to rise. I was determined that I could "conquer" diabetes and this was a setback. The more I read and learned the more I was convinces that I was LADA, not type II. I was diagnosed by a general practioner and treated for the last year by a nurse practioner who was also a diabetes educator. I convinced the NP to test me for antibodies and results were positive for GAD and IA-2.
Now I'm trying to get in to see and endocrinologist and can't get an appointment for 3 months! And I work in a large health science center. Needless to say, I'm a bit discouraged and worried as my BG is up and down and not controlled much at all. I did go on Lantis but it's hard to adjust my dosage when I vary from 70 - 170 FBS.
Reading the many blogs on tudiabetes has really helped me to feel I'm not alone. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
