Neuropathy can heal. It takes several months for the nerves to regenerate. If you stay in good control for that long you can regain feeling. I'm glad that retinal surgery works. It is relatively a new thing. Back in the day you just went blind.
I always get anxious when I have my retinal photos taken every year.
The doctors always told me to be expecting retinal problems at around 20 years after diagnosis if my control is good. It was marginal for many years but good now. It has been almost 26 years and I have no retinal complications.
I'm sure you can bring it back into good control. I find it is habit one way or the other.
