The dreaded?

ok so i just put in this sensor a couple hours ago all has been fine with it and now for the past 30 mins all i have is ??? did my sensor die?

I have had some come back. Dexcom makes you wait 3 hours before they will replace it.

i tend to get the ??? with every sensor after I enter the 2 BG. Sometimes I will surpass the 3 hours and go to sleep and in the middle of the night it started working. Not sure what the reason is but I tend to give it more than 3 hours now… :frowning:

ive had it in since noon and my sugars went in at 2 and its been fine all the way up to 4:30 and now it decides to act up never had them do it yet and im on my 3rd sensor

We were told that since my son doesn’t have much body fat, it can take longer for the sensor to “settle.” Every new sensor we start goes into a crazy pattern followed by ??? and then comes back just fine. If we stop and restart the same sensor, we don’t have that issue, but we have learned to expect it otherwise.

I put a new sensor in last night at 7:30 and it started acting crazy at Midnight. It was swinging wide from 40 to 156 and waking me up every hour of so with alarms either high or low. Each and every time I checked it with my meter, I was between 80 and 95. In in my comfort range. This morning I was so fed up that I took that one out and replaced it with another. I checked with Dexcom this morning and the tech told me they really like you to wait 24 hours to see if the sensor will “settle in” before taking it out and them replacing it for you. He is sending me another one, but asked that next time I wait the 24 hours to see if it self-corrects. Of course that’s after I burned about 10 test strips through the night checking to see if it was right and then trying to calibrate it. I was tired and cranky this morning when I talked to them. Ughhh

i just stopped and started my sensor so yea i hated doing thatand its back to the ??? again GRRRRR

Hello Andrew,
I had ??? many times already, it does not say that your sensor died. Wait 2 hours. If ??? continue after 2 hrs contact DEXCO technical support for the help. One more thing I would like to tell you is when BG value appear on your CGM after ??? pls do the fingerstick to assure that CGM shows correctly. If BG on CGM is different than your fingerstick, calibrate your CGM with 2 fingersticks.

I would go ahead and just contact Dexcom technical support Andrew. The question marks can be frustrating, but I also agree with Rachna because after awhile the blood sugars will eventually appear. But it’s smart to let Dexcom know anytime this happens over 3 hours that way it’s marked on your account.

And like Kelly stated anything over 3 hours, Dexcom will replace your sensor. Good luck and let us know how you make out.

ok im calling them now its been just over 3 hours

so i got on the phone with tech support and was fixing to be next when my dexcom beeped for 2 start up sugars so i did it and lets see what happens if it does it again im letting tech support know

Good to hear Andrew. Glad that you finally were able to get the 2 blood sugars screen to come up. Just be careful because in the past I got the 2 blood sugars screen and then the question marks came up again after entering my 2 blood sugars. Hopefully everything will be good for you now.
