Traveling with diabetes

Ok, so I am officially going to Peru for around 23 days. I am so nervous, but at the same time excited. Do not get me wrong this is the second time I have gone to Peru, it is the first time with my insulin pump. The last time I went I think I already had diabetes because I went to the bathroom non-stop. The funny part is that almost ruined me because you have to pay every single time that you use a public bathroom and if you need toilet paper it is an extra charge. I have read that people with diabetes tend to get high sugars until the body adjusts to the new area. I know that happens to me because even when I go to Orlando (were I grew up) I tend to get high’s. My family says that everything will be ok, and I know it will, but you always have that “what if”. My trip is not until mid July but time flies so fast that in a blink of an eye, I know that I will be bording the plane. Oh, I forgot to mention I may be traveling to Machu Pichu, which the elevation is so high that they greet you with coca tea. Ok, but I am going to my endo appt on July 9th. Hopefully he gives me a lot on insight.
