Travelling with insulin on long holidays/vacations

need to know what people do to keep there insulin cold - for my next trip/holiday please!!

I had problems in USA travelling for 3 months - FRIO PAK WAS USELESS - lots of insulin to carry ! And I was constantly stressed

NO REFIRGERATORS IN LOTS OF HOTEL - IN FACT THE ONLY HOTEL THAT WOULD EVEN TOUCH MY FREEZER BLOCK WAS THE HOLIDAY INN AT CHICAGO

AMTRAK JUST GAVE ME ICE, no way would they let me freeze it in their fridge (THE ICE MELTED ALL OVER THE FLOOR)

I have seen some portable battery operated fridge paks advertised on EBAy but wondered if any members have used one - I am travelling to Europe in Summertime

I use Frios. Why do you say the Frio was useless?

Many hotels (including Motel 6) have some rooms with fridge in room (often with microwave). You need to ask specifically if they have one when you reserve. There is no reason for the hotel to touch your insulin, it is in your own room.

Personally the Frio is the easiest imho, as it goes from car or train to room to purse and just needs water to reactivate. (Lasts for days before you need to do this).
