On the second sensor, I applied it to my stomach. I used an aftermarket over-patch and with both hands, it worked perfectly. Zero issues. I did try the included patch again and in taking off the top cover, it still pulls away from the greenish base your suppose to use to apply it with. Useless again. The Amazon purchased patch worked great. I’ll see how difficult it is to remove when it’s time for the third sensor.
I can agree with those advising that the signal strength is poor. I keep my phone in my back pocket and I get the signal loss alarm multiple times a day getting in and out of the truck.
As i’ve mentioned before, i’ve been aggravated by the Dexcom G7 patch. And now for something new: The last 3 patches came curled up around the instructions, don’t lay flat, and that increases the difficulty of getting them on. The adhesive isn’t properly sticking to the patch, which could lead to peeling off the skin before 10 days pass. There seems to be so little quality control for as much as the company charges for these devices. You can see the issue in the photo montage.
Thanks for allowing me to vent. Much better now!
I have had trouble with the G7 being rubbed and falling off also… Here is is the hack I have used for the last couple of times:
I had 2 packs of leftover G6 sensor over-patches from when I was switched to the G7. I found that if you cut one in half, and over lap the to sections around the G7 sensor, it works better for me that just the over tape that comes with the G7. It is a little hard to pea the backing tape off the half with out the precut backing. I get the backing on that half started before I put it on.
Further update on my G7 tape issue. I tried some J&J Band-aid. Hurt-free wrap. I wrapped all the way around my arm twice and it stayed on untill the sensor timed out.
I finally purchased some some Lexam G7 adhesive patches from Amazon that are about 1/2" wider than the Dexcom over patch. They stayed on for then 10 day duration.
I also found that I need to put a sensor on after a shower and before I put deodorant on if I want it to last.
