Have you tried using SkinTac? I am still using the G6 sensor but for my infusion sets I always use SkinTac or else I’ll end up losing half of them. SkinTac is much, much stickier than Skin Prep or IV Prep wipes. I have to use an adhesive remover when it’s time to change the set because it if Just pill it off, I’ll end up with a red, dry scaly patch of skin where the set had been. I do also use it on my G6 sensors and everything holds very well.
I use the larger clear g7 tegaderm style patches i found on Amazon…usually around $7 for 60 patches…im using them instead of the free ones the g7 comes with because of the current heat(no ac when im at work), and they kept falling off on day 5 or 6…i have skin tac, but haven’t needed to use it yet
I’m curious. Are you using the Tegaderm clear skin patches as the base to which you then apply the sensor directly? In other words, the G7 sensor pierces through the Tegaderm patch when you deploy it. That would seem like an effective tactic both from a skin sensitivity perspective as well as a successful adhesive situation.
While I still use the G6, I don’t have any sensor adhesive failures but must consider my eventual use of the G7. I discovered an old box of Tegaderm patches in my supply and think they could supply some stability/longevity to my eventual G7 sessions.
Sorry for the delay, because of the heat, i have had a few of the included over patches fall off on day 4 or 5, and am currently using the aftermarket clear (larger and thinner) overpatches instead of the dexcom ones…i haven’t needed to use skin tac yet, but i have noticed they are a lot more sensitive to arm placement…although with the g6, i was not trying to squeeze in an omnipod on the same arm, so its more the issue of multiple devices. When i am able to squeeze them both on the same arm, those 3.3 days are preferred
