Two non invasive meters likely a reality

I’ve posted a few times specifcally in regard to the St Louis meter which this article describes some addtional info about its likely cost and timeframe to the public. In this article which was printed a few months back it discuses another meter in the works by Grove Instruments which is claiming a possible comericalization within two years. I can’t wait to see the look on the stick manaufacturers faces when these hit. We can only hope and pray Dr Faustman can get us off this crap for good but for those testing 10 -15 times a day your fingers will finally get relief.

If you live in Worchester Mass it looks like Grove is looking for volunteers… Funny that it was posted on craigslist.

Cool, looks like a patch of some sort. We still desperately need an advanced therapy (transplant, regeneration, smart Insulin) but being able to see our levels in real time would make is rather easy to prevent hypo’s and even cut down on the hyperglycimic episodes. I for one on a good day don’t test more then 3 times. Usually I do one or two. I can’t stand doing it as I play guitar and refuse to destroy my fingertips, plus the cost and I hate doing it in public. I think in the next few years we should have a few non invasive meters to choose from. In the end its still the same ole disease it was back hundreds of years ago and only the tools to help manage it have improved. Smart Insulin with a non invasive meter would be fabulous outside of an outright cure.

Non-invasive would a most welcome improvement. How awesome for kids not to have their itty fingers poked all day & to be lanced in their sleep. “More than a $12 billion monitoring market worldwide.” Honestly, I thought it would be more than that. Maybe that’s an annual figure.

Iv actually been to Grove Instruments.. The device is very real, but they are still working on shrinking the size and tweaking it.. http://www.groveinstruments.com/ The small white box that sorta looks like an old chemstrip meter is pretty close to their model in testing...
