URGENT HELP NEEDED! Please guide me if possible

Hi all!

I am an international Masters Degree student in Finland. I’m 24 years old and am Diabetic.
The problem is that when I came from Pakistan I brought the Insulins for approx. 1 year with me. But due to some unknown reason they just stopped controlling my sugar level!! Then I had to get admitted in hospital for about 10 days, & the doctors changed my insulin & advised me two different insulins long acting (Lantus) and rapid acting (Apidra). Now the problem is that they are way too expensive for internationls in Finland, and being a student and unemployed I am unable to buy on my own. While searching on internet I found a website of USA where they were providing free insulins two the people in US. Is there any thing like this which can help me out? Or is there any thing or any way in which I can get insulins free or atleast affordable and cheap???

Please I really need help in this regard as I am suffereing alot these days due to this problem and am extremely tense these days. Also my sugar level keeps on oscillating alot!!

Kind Regards,
Jawad Yasin

I doubt you will be able to get free insulin from the US, but you may find other sources in Finland. Lantus and Apidra are modern insulin analogs and are more expensive. You may be able to find human insulins, typically called Regular ® or Protophane or NPH (Neutral Protamine Hagedorn). Here in the US, Lantus costs $100, but you can buy NPH at Walmart for $25. You should also check whether your school offers medical service and they may actually offer free or discounted medications.
