So what should I do? My endo Rxed the MiniMed 522 and Medicare approved it.
Send Minimed a the Rx and the Medicare approval. (Keep copies for yourself.) Minimed will take care of the rest.
I think Jenny nailed it. The guy is following a script. English may not be his first language or he may be unfamiliar with American etiquette and didn’t realize he was acting rudely.
I had a similar experience with a rep on another product, but he was based here and explained that he had to go through all the troubleshooting steps before he was authorized to ‘escalate’ the call. My guess is that this is a system companies put in place to keep phone reps from issuing replacement equipment unnecessarily.
My own experience with Minimed is that they have always been polite, helpful and responsive.
Good luck with your new pump. What company are you going to go with?
I have had the same experience with Minimed. In fact, I have never been sent to anyone working in an overseas call center. They even let me come by and pick up a set inserter when I lost one and didn’t want to wait for shipping (I live relatively close to their HQ).
