Customer Service

I don’t even have my Minimed pump yet, and already I’m unhappy with their customer service.

They were supposed to send the pump and CGM to my doc’s office. They sent the CGM under the wrong name.

They sent both the pump and CGM without the suite number (because they didn’t have it, and apparently it was too hard to call and ask). So far, it hasn’t arrived. I called the rep I had been working with and left a message early this morning. It’s 2pm and I haven’t heard back.

They were great for the life of my first pump, but they’ve gone downhill ever since I got my new pump 2 years ago. I’d like to blame it on the economy and them being understaffed but it will make me think that much harder before I go with them a third time. I hope you get this straightened out!

When they were Minimed and not medtronic, things were grand. Heck, my rep had me over to his house and kept up with my after I got the pump for a while. CS, used to be amazing always bening over backwards for MM pump users. Then Medtronic purchased them… Now, its a whole different story. While they move forward with technology, they fall behind in communication and CS. The CS is not terrible yet, but is not as good as it was by far.

Well, after I emailed the rep, I got a call back, and they will try to recover the packages and route them here to my house (of course, they use UPS, who will get here when they get here, or else I have to drive into the city to pick it up).

I was spoiled when I purchased my first and second pump from Animas.

I switched to Medtronic, soley because of the CGM, and boy do I miss Animas. Big Time! Customer service is not even comparable.

Sometimes you don’t know how good you have it until you tried the other brand.

I have found Medtronic to be nothing short of amazing.

I am in Australia, and I have to connect with an American operator if I need help for my son’s pump. If it is through the night, they email the Australian office so that by morning, if I need something, it is sent out that day. Most people who use the Medtronic pumps in Oz are really happy with the product and the service.

Sorry to hear you’re having problems. I have had minimed for 9 years and no problems. The only complaint I have is I asked them if they had any financial assistance and they e-mailed me to tell me they did for full time students and to just ask the rep when I ordered new supply. So I called and asked, it turns out you have to be a full time student and work part time as well, or have been unemployed for less than a yr. I have been unemployed for just over a yr, and I cant go to school full time and work.I physically can not do it. I tried in the past and it was too much for my body to handle. I wish they would improve their financial assistance. As far as service though ,no problems.

Good. I hope you get it quickly!

I’ve just started on the Minimed Paradigm Revel and I’m already wondering if I made a good decision. Last night I waited 25 minutes after I dialed the helpline to speak with a real live person. By that time my BG had already climbed an extra 125 points. When the young man finally did answer it was so noisy in the background I could barely hear him. I still don’t have my problem resolved.

Well my pack did come to my house today, so maybe i can get it set up and get my training in.

wow, that’s bad. Let us know what the problem was, and how it (or if) it gets fixed.

I am lucky that i will still have my old pump and a couple of weeks worth of supplies on standby, if necessary.

Sounds good. If you have any questions Im sure someone here can help! Congrats on the new pump. Oh and for android apps, there is some in the market that arent bad.

Hmmm…still not impressed.

When Medtronic sent me all my pump supplies, for some reason they only sent one month of the CGM sensors, and three months-worth of everything else. I called to order more and to order longer infusion sets. Yesterday I got the package in, and they sent me the pump reservoirs instead of CGM sensors!

I had a feeling that woman taking the order was a bit oblivious; however when i tried to check the order online after the call, I got a message about not being ‘‘allowed’’ to see that order. How ridiculous is that?

The only bright spot is that when I called back today, the guy on the phone sounded intelligent and was very helpful. This time around i made him verify the part number.

Sending 1 months supply of sensors is normal. If you are paying cash just call in and they will send more ASAP. If you are paying via insurance you may want to wait until the first round of charges are approved to make things easier.

Also, keep in mind that many people use the MM sensor for 6+ days so a box of 10 would last at least 60 days.

The MM pump and CGM have been amazing for me. Not perfect but 1000000% better than MDI.

Why did you have it shipped to the Dr. office? Mine was shipped directly to me. Yes I had to be sign for it due to the value. But I was able to track it on UPS’s tracking system.

I had no problems. In April I received my pump and 2 days after receiving it the Revel came out and they exchanged it within a couple of days.

I had an error message come up. One time only. I called, they walked me thru it. No problem.

The only issue is being on hold for an extended period of time.

No big problems here.

When I first spoke with the rep, she said my doctor preferred to have items shipped to his office. I assumed if she knew that, she would also have the proper address.

Fortunately, when i finally got it delivered to my house, UPS showed up a few minutes before I left for work.

Yes, the CGM is a real plus (though the manual is pretty incomplete; for instance it doesn’t tell you that when you that when you reconnect to an existing CGM, you should actually use the ''connect to new sensor" command).

There are a few annoyances I have with the pump. The main one being that, as far as I can figure, once the pump runs out you MUST refill before you can even suspend the pump or else take out the battery to end the annoying beeps. I haven’t called tech support about that yet, but if anyone has another solution, please let me know.
