Wax and pumice stone

I purchased a wax removal system about a month ago and as I was reading the instructions it said something in regards to ‘diabetics should not use this product’. And a week ago I purchased a pumice stone…same thing with the diabetes and not using it. I used both, but what gives?

Well I believe that they put precautions for D’s because many people lose sensation in their feet from D’s which could make it so you use it possibly too hard causing you to cut yourself, take away too much skin or get an infection…and of course being Diabetic we don’t heal as quickly as other people…the ultimate joys of D’s! I know my grandmother has T2 and she has no feeling in her feet at all and has a lot of difficulty with infections and healing properly. So in her case it would be a problem. The pumice stone could also get contaminated with germs etc. :frowning: I know it seems like everything has a warning if you’re Diabetic. DON’T USE IF YOU ARE DIABETIC!! I feel like ok already…I get it if I’m diabetic everything is a problem…what’s new?! Gotcha! But that’s the annoyed me talking. LOL. I personally think if you have good sensation in your feet etc. and you are careful you will be fine. I have used both too without any issues and I’ve been diabetic practically my entire life now!!

How unfortunate !

If you have no circulatory issues and no neuropathy or loss of sensation, anything labeled as “do not use if diabetic” should not a problem. The problem comes when people who DO have those issues use the products, get a huge infection as a result, often without being very aware of it happening.

As a T1 without any complications, I ignore all the warnings… I pumice my feet, knees, and elbows almost daily, I’m not afraid of getting waxed, and I even gasp walk outside barefoot

x2! just keep an eye on your feet and use your head!
