What are peoples oppinions on the pump?

Hi,
Well basically, my bloods have been all over the place for about 2 years now, and in october i went into hospital with acidosis and nearly lost my fight to diabetes. I have started to get my bloods back on track. I have been interested in the pump for a while now, and would like to know peoples opinions on the pump? Let me know what people think of it?

Brooke...add me as a friend if you like, would be nice to talk to people with the same problems as me?

Hi Brooke
Welcome to this wonderful place :)
I personally love the pump and would not give it back.
At the beginning, it is more work, since you have to fine tune everything into place, but if used properly, can be a great tool, to work with your diabetes.
Some people suggest getting a CGM first, so you know your BGs better and can therefore set the basal better.
I definitely encourage you joining the Pump groups here to find out more.

Here are some discussions from the main forum that were similar to your question:

I definitely suggest you reading through the main forum or the pump groups to get a better idea.

Oh, and since i just found out you live in the UK, make sure to get the pump before you are an adult, i think the first link i sent you (should i get a pump?)
has some answers there. from what i've heard it is pretty difficult to get a pump covered in the UK if you are an adult.
good luck

Hi Brooke, the insulin pump changed my numbers in a POSITIVE way!! I love the pump... I would never even think about going back to injections. It's amazing.

Thankyou :) helped alot

Aw really? Thankyou, im thinking about it because my bloods are only just getting back om track but still have the odd high one or low one..what do you thinks better out of high or low blood sugars?

I mean obviously on the pump, you're still going to have your odd high or low once in a while. I mean you're diabetic! Ehh.... I'm not sure they are both a terrible feeling. :/

I absolutely love my pump! I have the Omnipod, and my numbers are a lot better than before. The pump has so many cool features you can use too. I hope you find a good pump to use!
