I had ham and eggs (the innards of a Hungry Jacks breakfast muffin), and a Diet Coke. I can’t do morning carbs…
I really wanted a hash brown, but my BSL starts to climb almost as soon as I get out of bed, no no hashie goodness for me today. I can eat them later in the day without any issues though, and thankfully one can get them after 10am these days.
Since I started eating lchf my cholesterol and blood pressure have been just above normal, according to my dr. I think he means ‘normal’ for a 78 year old woman, but am so happy with the result. I eat butter, whole eggs, full fat milk, all the things I denied myself when my cholesterol and bp were rising at every visit, despite my strict denial. Go figure. Good luck Uff-Da.
Today I had a toasted peanut butter and jelly sandwich. I do not like any of the breakfast meats so besides cereal and a bagel that’s about all I rotate for breakfast . I am a picky eater and a diabetic !
Keto strawberry chocolate chip muffin with butter. Recipe was from Low Carb Maven’s blog. 5g net carbs.
Depends on my sugar. This morning = 79. English muffins; one with butter and one with peanut butter, coffee black. Sometimes yogurt, sometimes nothing if my sugar is high (>150).
I’ve been eating a kind of chia pudding, introduced to me by @Terry4 here on this forum for several months now. It is actually 2 tablespoons of chia seeds, 1 tbsp flax seed and 1 tbsp hemp seeds. Mixed with 1/4 cup Greek yoghurt and 1/4 cup berries/fruit. The seeds make it very filling and I love it. Even non diabetics say it looks delicious!
I used to have the same breakfast but double the size without the seeds. This new recipe has really made all the difference. Now I almost never have spikes
For me, dawn phenomenon starts the second I wake up and will not stop rising until I eat something (usually 50-150 points per hour!) Plus I’ve never skipped a meal in my life lol I love to eat! I usually have 2 eggs or a protein shake and either a piece of wheat toast or an english muffin. I will include sausage or bacon on the weekends but never on the weekdays.
Whole wheat English muffin with 1/2 cup eggbeater, wedge of laughing cow lite cheese and a hand full of cut up veggies.coffee w skim milk=30 grms of carbs. Filling and covers all nuitritional bases.
I’ve discovered over the last two years that exercise, lots of fish oil, and cutting carbs has bottomed out my LDL and total cholesterol. That’s while eating 4-10 eggs a day, bacon, fatty meat, and tons of nuts. I know it varies from person to person, but it appears that at least in my case, ingestion of dietary cholesterol is not correlated with serum cholesterol at all.
