What has made you feel the most supported?

my mom was that person now that she's gone I have looked high and low but I have found no one who even came close to her I guess now it's my hubby

I have a friend who is a pharmacist, and he was the first person I ever met other than my mother who seemed to actually understand what being diabetic meant and how it affected me. I'd just moved away from home to uni so this was BIG for me. He's my main inspiration when I have bad days, because I just imagine that if he was there he would be proud at how well I've coped, and it makes me feel more appreciated. It sounds a bit weird but it really meant a lot to feel understood. We're at rocky patch atm and my control is going to pot, so finding this site has been a God send.

I would say that the diabetic team at the hospital has been very supportive of my family needs for my son. The school nurse became like family to us as well. Having family is definitely a huge plus. Perhaps building relationships with others at the hospital or clinic you attend can help, like the one we attend has days were they gather for exercises and cooking. Start your own club of something you like and create your circle of support.
