I'm assuming that is a question so I will answer that when i was using multiple injections (I switched to the pump 2 weeks ago) my favourite was the Contour USB by far.

Easy to use, plug and play, small drop of blood needed, great colorful screen, basic options to attach to your readings (bf,after lunch, exercise, illness,...), nice looking graphs tho a little too big for my taste, results can be PDF or printed for any time period you set and is small enough to carry in a tiny purse :)
I miss it soo much!!
I don't think one is better than another, the main point is the cost of test strips. I use the FreeStyle because they have a membership card you can get and your test strips cost you $15.00 for a three month supply. The meter is free, you have to sign up online. It is the best deal that I have found.
I used to use a OneTouch Ultra which was good and their software is good. I like their reports and it is easy to email them directly to the CDE. I certainly like it better than the FreeStyle Co-Pilot software which you can download for free on the web, but the cable to hook to the computer costs. I have been on MDI for 37 years
Thankyou for your sdvice. I am only considering leaving the pump and CGM behind. If only for awhilea. I do like being able to study my trends but the pump and having a CGM has never made my BG's better. I am still all over the place and my last A1C was 7.2 which is not good. It used to be 6.4-6.6 but now I cannot seem to achieve that. It is a lot of work with not so much reward. So I have been considering MDI. My Uncle uses it and has great results. Myself, have suffered 3 seperate bleeds in one eye, the last in my retina.
Thankyou for your help. do you know if you can get a free one?
I have used a freestyle and they are great, small and have a light for night testing.
I want to thank you for your advice
thank you for your advice. I would like to be able to get a contour.
Do you like the pump? I have been using one for 15 years and for the past 5 a CGM.
Honestly I hate the CGM, it is a lot of work with little reward and I do not like wearing 2 seperate devices. I have been considering MDI lately, used it years ago but now I have a much better understanding of the whole disease, just get frustrated with all of the paraphernalia.
the pump is better for unexpected activity when you need to decrease a basal rate and if you are an active person it will work well for you. Best of luck!
My son uses MDI and we use the Freestyle Insulinx meter, it tracks everything, and has a bolus calculator so it also keeps track of his insulin injections, we know if he has insulin on board, can set it to calculate corrections as well as boluses for carbs, we like it very much.
I haven’t tried it but the One Touch Verily is new on the market and is designed to recongize trends.
