I’ve been a diabetic for about 5 months. I currently use a Contour because the Reps that visited me in ICU when I got diagnosed gave me one every time they came by. I also have a small stock pile of about 20 boxes of test strips that my grandmother has been giving me. I want to switch soon thou. I don’t like keeping the little log book and none of the contours I have will download to the software Bayer provides. The tech at my endo’s office said contours have this problem often, so I’m looking for my next meter. I have a Onetouch mini that I got while in the hospital as well, but I don’t use it anymore because I have all these contour strips to go through. The main thing I want is one with well designed support software so I can download my numbers and see how I’m doing. I’ve done a little research and have not found anything the definitive on which meter/software is better.
All thought appreciated,
I have some good info on many of the popular glucose testing machines of today. Give me your email and I will send it to you. Interesting reviews of many of them by a type1 diabetic for over 20 years.
It’s on its way Josh. Good luck.
i have used so many meters and one touch is the most accurate for me!
I like the one touch mini!(=
and the colors are cute
I love the One Touch. I love the minis when I travel but I have my Ultra Smart that I keep going back to. I love the fact that I can download the information and print out the information for my doctor.
The only thing that I do not like about One Touch is that you have to pay for the cable.
Just heard about this one:
I know of a type 1 who is testing it now. I’ll be curious to see what she has to say.
I would be curious how much the Bayer USB is going to cost. I will not be surprised if the other meter companies are going to start using USB instead of the cords.
i think it is freestle light there is no extra coding and is still pretty cheap and becayse it is such a big meter chain i go to stores and tons of free junk from freestyle light meter company or abbot
