Rick

I wanna rock and roll all nite and party every day

Oh I, I just died in your arms tonight
It must have been something you said
I just died in your arms tonight

Oh the songs I could sing  I was brought up on classic rock. I listen to everything but classic rock has always had a special place in my heart. Reminds me of Daddy.

Hey hey, my my
Rock and roll can never die
There’s more to the picture
Than meets the eye.
Hey hey, my my.

Out of the blue
and into the black
You pay for this,
but they give you that
And once you’re gone,
you can’t come back
When you’re out of the blue
and into the black.

The king is gone
but he’s not forgotten
Is this the story
of Johnny Rotten?
It’s better to burn out
’cause rust never sleeps
The king is gone
but he’s not forgotten.

Hey hey, my my
Rock and roll can never die
There’s more to the picture
Than meets the eye.

Yes! Ian Curtis would have understood diabetes … Have you seen the movie ā€œControl?ā€

It looks like I’m in good company with Josephine, Jason & Danny…
Give me some good ol’ Ska, Oi, TwoTone, Punk, Northern Soul, New Wave and Alt 80s and I’m happy. I can also get into the stylings of Amy Winehouse, Adele, The Libertines & Glasvegas
However, my most favoritist band is Bay City Rollers. Yes, I said it.

I listen to anything that sounds good, except for heavy metal. I LOVE music in general so I can’t save I have a favorite genre.

I’m mostly into techno, electronica, and some pop music. Or anything with a good beat and catchy lyrics

I also love all kinds of music including: country, rock, bluegrass, gospel and when I’m in a funk deathmetal (slayer).

metal of all kinds.cant go without it,

Hi im into
Goth: like
The cure
Cinema strange
Frank the baptist
The 69 eyes
ETC.
And I also listen anything in the genre of Rock and some Johnny Cash never hurt anyone

Everything except country and rap music. lol

Ooh this is an old post. I’ll say that I won’t discriminate against any kind of music, as long as I like the song or piece. So that also means, I can like a song/piece by someone, but not EVERYTHING they do. This goes for me about anything in the arts. One can’t do something brilliant or even, gasp, passable every time.

Since I’ve been playing guitar for about 30 years now I’ve been into mainly hard rock stuff. What I play and what I like to listen to can vary greatly. My all time favorite band is old school Van Halen with DLR. I am nearing 45 years old and grew up listening to and digging Kiss, Zep, AC/DC, VH, Aerosmith, Ratt, Dokken, Scrops, Priest etc… and followed the changes with Nirvana, Soundgarden, AIC, STP…etc. I hate country and rap for the most part. To me a good song is a good song regardless of who did it. I like to listen to jazz being its soothing and especially if my sugars are off its more tolerable to listen to then anything else. I like some 50’s stuff also. Some of the more pop stuff I like is Tears for Fears, Eddie Money, Tom Petty etc. As far as stuff over the last decade or so I really never followed who was doing what. I liked some songs here and there and others I didn’t. I’ve literally heard thousands and thousands of different artists over the years.

Like Gary I’ve been playing since I was a kid (I’m firmly in the aging boomer catagory now) and have pretty eclectic tastes.

Here’s some of my favorite guitarists:

Freddie Green - Count Basie (invented a whole style of rhythm playing)
The 3 Kings BB, Albert and Freddie - Blues
Chuck Berry
Scotty Moore - Elvis’s guitarist
Steve Cropper - on all those Stax Volt hits in the 60’s
George Harrison
Jimmy Hendrix
Stevie Ray Vaughn
Jimmy Page - Zeppelin
John Mayer
Duane Allman and his # 1 disciple Derek Trucks who might even be better.
David Gilmore - Pink Floyd
Kenny Vaughn - Maryt Stuart, Lucinda Williams (Marty’s no slouch either)
Richard Thompson
Joey McKenzie - Quebe Sisters Band, check them out for some modern Texas swing
David Rawlings - Gillian Welch
Buddie Miller - Alt Country, Emmy Lou Harris
Eric Clapton - My all time favorite

I could go on…

No hip hop, rap (except the Beastie Boys) or country or anything religious. Oh, and I HATE the band RUSH. ewww…

I grew up in the 80s so that will tell you what kind of music I like. Mostly alternative, new wave 80s but MJ rules!

Favorite bands are The Alarm, U2, Sting and The Doors (I have a longer list but It would take me a while to type it out).

David Bowie, Elliott Murphy. the Cure, Peter Gabriel, Kate Bush, Iggy Pop.
