I had mine out about 25 years ago. All four at once, they put me out. I don’t remember it as being excruciating (but then I can barely remember what I had for lunch), but more a just a dull ache that was made more tolerable with the pain meds they gave me. Honestly tho, it wasn’t any more tolerable, I just didn’t care lol
Ha thanks Scott, I really think I’m worrying over nothing. But I will continue to worry…
I had all four out at once as well. They put me out. I remember the meds they put me on for pain made me not care about anything. Don’t worry, you will be fine.
a new member, Isabel, is a dentist. I’m sure your dentist knows about your diabetes. Dentistry is much advanced these days, but I am still terrified of any dental procedures. Find out in advance what types of foods (soft) you will have to restrict yourself to, and buy some. I’m sorry you have to go through this, Linzie! It will all be over before you know it. The anticipation is the worst part.
I have all four out as well, but that was before I had diabetes.
I looked like a chipmunk for a week. We took pictures.
I don’t remember it being very painful. I think that I was asleep for the painful part.
oh my land i am going to be doing the same thing sometime soon. im freaking out here.
I had them out at 14. Buy lots of popsickles, but no red ones, they frown on that since they can’t tell if it is blood or not in your saliva. I believe it was a week or so prior to eating regular food, I’d have to ask my dad. It wasn’t as painful as I thought it was going to be. take a towel or washcloth to bed though, You will drool a lot
Finally someone is getting wisdom! I feel sorry for you, I never had the experiment and am still little big kid!
You would be fine, just eat some berries and the worries will be gone ;o)
Thank you everyone!!! I appreciate all you have said, the more people I talk to, the less worried I am. Oh my fridge is stocked with yougurt and jello…
I had mine out at 20 (and I was diabetic at the time). Diabetics are more prone to “dry socket”, they say - and I did have trouble with that. Not much to do to prevent it, other than follow the doc’s instructions to the letter. I only had it in one place - and it was resolved within about 3 days. The pain meds made it seem not so bad.
I’d really recommend using the little syringe 'squirter" they give you to keep it cleansed of any food particles - I think that’s one reason mine never healed up completely - after 20 years food can still get stuck back there!
All in all - it wasn’t too bad. Hang in there and it’ll be over soon!
you’ll be fine. I had all 4 pulled at once and all i really remember was waking up at the doctors and being super confused about where i am. a few days after u have to drink liquids and be aware of food getting the holes, but its not too bad. good luck!
