I did my first, life is complicated. I walked for 40 minutes, started at 127 mg/dl and ended at 80 mg/dl.
OK Brian, I'm adding up the days you missed! LOL.
Clare, nothing left in me for a third, maybe tomorrow.
Please tell your TuD friends about the BBT. We need to get more per day to reach 20,000. I know we can!
The data is kept anonymous for the campaign this year for a handful of reasons you could probably guess.
If you're interested in "Big Blue Data" you could check out the abstract that Manny presented at the ADA this year. The poster was called "The Big Blue Test: Effects of 14 Minutes of Physical Activity on Blood Glucose Levels"
Click the red "View PDF" to get a closer look at the poster. http://ada.apprisor.org/2d.cfm?i=732-P&bhcp=1
LOL why is life complicated Bri ?
Going for a big long walk later.
I'm doing 1x/ day. I dunno if I can count it as "tu" when I did crunches while waiting for junior to go to school for 20 minutes and am then going running? BG is plummetting while I wait for CB to finish buzzing off either DP or maybe Somyogiiing or whatever is going on. One of these days I need to figure it out...
You can count it ar. It all counts.
I understand that you are from another planet, I mean continent, so therefore I may need to up my foreign lanuage skills a little. Could you please translate the above.
So far I've done 1 test/ day. Today, I did Laird Hamilton Ab Workout [I think this is a really good, compact ab workout for someone wanting to try something interesting, although you only get about 10-15 minutes of BBT from it, maybe less] while the kid was getting ready for school. She got up late so I didn't want to take up and go running so I had to do something. I had tested anyway, as my BG was going down from 230 when I woke up to 174 precrunches to 123 post crunch [site in abdomen? hmmm]. DP is hormonal morning boost whereas Somyogi effect is when you go low at night, triggering natural release of sugar producing AM high.
Apparently, given the nosediving rate of change, my correction factor may be a wee bit too high. I should read these books I recommend all the time and figure it out but I'm ambivalent as I'm not working out that much. Off for a run!!
Alrighty then!
aack, got run in, one disaster after another- salt shaker loader fell off, bg in toilet, will barely make it to work...argh...
Did one this morning, took Cosmo for a circuitous rapid 20 minute walk around the neighborhood. Started at 142 ended at 185 not exactly what I was hoping for, but have to report the goods and the bads, otherwise it wouldn't be "scientific" lol. Will try for a walk around the industrial park at lunch.
Like many, I struggle with juggling demands. I work, travel a fair bit, have kids and relatives who all depend on me. And sometimes it just all piles up.
These are all excuses. Sometimes it is just a matter of priority.
OMG what coffee creamer will do got up with a 73 after 3 cups of coffee w/ creamer went up to 173 and finally fell down afteer walking to 142
Lesson learned lol
AGAIN Like i didn't know that lol!
Manny just tweeting this interesting fact about who is doing the BBT around the world:
"Did u know that just over 50% of people who have done the #bigbluetest so far come from the US? India follows with 14%, UK 7%, Canada 3%"
397 tests so far. Keep 'em coming!
Gotta ask. Salt shaker? Fell off what?
After a lovely long walk, beautiful evening here, walked along the coastal paths in Northwest Donegal. If only the weather would stay like that. Anyway, very proud of myself 40min walk. Oh I forgot, before walk 8.4 then after 4.2, that's pretty amazing, usually go high after ex. Yes, Clare we must log the bad with the good, it will be interesting. No more coffee for Doris, full stop. Wonder did yer man make it to work and is the glucose meter working after the holiday to the toilet.
