The illness I live with is: Type 1 diabetes

But I had symptoms since: Not really sure, I was young. But I think for awhile Dad says I was “bad”

The biggest adjustment I’ve had to make is: I dont feel I really made any adjustments I have been D along time I don’t know life with out it.

Most people assume: I can’t eat this or that.

The hardest part about mornings are: Getting out of bed…LOL

A gadget I couldn’t live without is: Insulin

Regarding alternative treatments. I’m doing great with the treatment I am on now

If I had to choose between an invisible illness or visible I would choose: Invisible, I love my Diabetes

Regarding working and career: My Disease, I dont even like that word, does not limit me in anyway

People would be surprised to know: That I am 24 years old and have given myself shots for 18 years and will still cry when getting blood drawn.

The hardest thing to accept about my new reality has been: Its not new for me but. Every day is different. and not alway easy

Something I never thought I could do with my illness that I did was: I can do everything with my illness

Something I really miss doing since I was diagnosed is: Nothing

It was really hard to have to give up: I dont give up anything, I just make things work on a smaller scale

A new hobby I have taken up since my diagnosis is: WIthin the last year I am getting really active in my illness

If I could have one day of feeling normal again I would: I always feel normal, except on those random low / high days

Something that has surprised me about living with an illness is: Diabetes doesn’t run my life, I run my diabetes

The nicest thing someone did for me when I wasn’t feeling well was: My Boyfriend always reminds me to keep my sugars good so I dont feel bad, and he doesnt like me to feel that way either.

I’m involved with Invisible Illness Week because: Not all diseases are visable, but we still need to lear about what we cant see and teach others to benefit all
