Hello Y’all!
I am so relieved to have found tuDiabetes. For the longest time, I needed to reach out and find more people with Type 1 diabetes who are in my age range (20s-30s). I want to connect with active diabetics who truly understand what I am going through.
After being diagnosed at age 2, I make every effort to live a healthy life and have fun in the process. I’ve encountered every roadblock imaginable from having Type 1 diabetes, including relationship probs, job discrimination, being without health insurance, DKA, and other complications. That aside, having diabetes can also be seen as a blessing in disguise because it keeps me on top of all my medical needs. I’m exercising and eating better than ever before!
About me: I enjoy music (reggae, classic rock, alternative, punk, metal), concerts, bbq / cooking, sushi, travel, nature, hiking, biking, offroading, tattoo, art, being creative, museums, writing / books, movies, animals, theme parks, and the little things that make life worthwhile. My advice to anyone with diabetes is to take time to stop and smell the roses. Life is so precious and I’m realizing it more and more.
