I have been a diabetic since at least 1991. I always took great care of my diabetes, and lived a normal, very physically active life. I am quite aggressive with my exercise and find great joy in it.
For years i was in the mortgage business, and when the market turned, i took advantage of my contacts in the mortgage business, and my passion for helping the downtrodden, and started a loan modification business called MidAtlantic Loan Solutions,Inc. Frankly, i am very good at helping people save there homes and lowering their payments, and i love what i do.
When i started my business 2 years ago,i was unable to procure health insurance. I continued to exercise regularly, eat reasonably well, but not good enough. I cut out byetta due too the expense and went into a bit of denial and stopped checking my blood sugar.I was still taking glimipiride and metformin.
my a1c skyrocketed to 9.3. I got into a clinical trial comparing byetta and levemir and if necessary, combing them.It started in January.It is a Medstar clinical program.
After 12 weeks of adding levemir, my a1c went down to 7.5.We added byetta and cut down on glimipiride , and after 3 more weeks my aic is 6.5 and dropping!
I encourage this regimen for anyone who it my benefit, and if the Doctor will prescribe it.
I still exercise regularly, eat better, exercise and work with passion.I basically eat a veg/fish diet and take a casual general look at the amount of carbs i eat and regularly check my blood sugar.
