Acute pancreatitis anyone!

Do you have any experience with acute pancreatitis?
Especially if you are TYPE 2....

Was it easy to diagnose? Was it diagnosed by your ENDO or another type of doctor? What was your treatment? Did it release pancreatic enzymes in the abdomen and cause inflammation in the fat in the abdomen? How was this resolved? What was your recovery time?

Over the past 5 months I have been suffering with pain in my lower right abdomen about 1'" above the bikini line. My original diagnosis was Diverticulitis which was proven wrong by a gastroenterologist. I have gone to a hernia specialist who told me it was a rare hernia that is localed in the lower abdomen. After a CT-scan of the area, she has since backed off from the rare hernia diagnosis. Now she is suggesting that I may have some "dead fat tissue deposits" that could be causing my pain. She is now confering with a radiologist.

Since this time I did a google search on "dead fat tissue" and pancreatitis came up. The symptoms totally make sense to me. I plan on making an appointment with my ENDO to see if she can recognize the symptoms.

If anybody has any experience with this please let me know. I can not function with being medication through out the day. I believe the situation is getting worse. This has affected my work performance and daily activities. I am not sure what to do next if this is not the problem.

thanks.

It’s in the wrong place to be a pancreas.

I know where my pancreas is. I am suffering and grasping at straws. Everything doctor I have been to has been stomped by this. Do you have any other suggestions?

It’s in the right place to be an appendix, or torsion from an ovarian cyst,

It’s also in the right place to be fatty tissue necrosis, viz:

Here’s how you tell if it’s your appendix.
Take your right hand - stick you thumb in your navel, spread your hand and then put your pinky on your hip bone.
The top of your middle finger will be right over your appendix, push in - if it hurts it could be your appendix. Of course, when I had my appendix removed, they apologize from the DX - as my appendix was closed at both ends and growing up the back of my bowel - that’s why they couldn’t find it. The pain I was having was never DX but that was 1980.
