I keep bumping into things with my pod placement. I have to change pod every two days because my body rejects it. Do those sleeves work? Or a special tape?
They will help, but not 100%. You can still knock them off.
You can try to find places where they won’t bump into things, like the inside of your arm instead to the outside. Or your stomach.
I didn’t know you could use the inside of arm
They don’t tell you this, but you can inject insulin pretty much anywhere! So put that pod anywhere that it is out of the way. It will work.
Some places give you better absorption, generally in areas where the muscles are used. But once that insulin gets under your skin, it will find it’s way into your blood.
I’ve put them on in all kinds of places - forearm, chest, calves, neck.
If it will stick, it will work.
wow cool !!! I didn’t know that! I really do have to change it every 2 days
because my body attacks the cannula.
I have the same issue sometimes. I don’t always get 3 days.
I’ve had better luck with NovoLog than Humalog for 3 days though. Maybe worth a try, if you can get some.
I use Novolog with Omnipod and it usually gives me a full 72 hours. The only problem I had with placement sites was when I used my upper right thigh. When I removed the pod blood spurted up like a geyser; an inordinate amount of blood. Took a pic but too gorey to post.
I use Humalog but I do have a vial of Novolog
Be careful going into the upper inner right thigh near the groin, your femoral artery is there and it is not very deep under your skin. You may have nicked that and it could have caused the extensive bleeding.
