Android Carb Apps

I just started with a Medtronic Minimed 723 a few months ago and it is working great for me. It has helped me get my sugars under much better control. I am still learning the food thing of course, but I do feel much better using it than with out. I have been able to drop my A1C from 10.4 to 6.9.

What I am looking for are suggestions, for an Android App. I am willing to pay for it, but I need an app that will help me know the carb amounts in food. Now we as a family prepare our meals from scratch, i.e. we don't eat a lot of pre-packaged food. I am looking for an app that can give me carbs in staple items(such as flour, spices, meats, apples, peaches, salt, etc) as well as restaurant foods as I do eat out occasionally. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

I haven’t found any good ones on droid. You can check out my fitness pal but I usually just google whatever it is I am looking for.

I can't find the directions, but I emailed Calorie King and asked when they would have an android version (they have an iphone version already). They were very nice and sent me instructions on accessing Calorie King through our android phone,.

I had decided to splurge on evening for my birthday dinner (lobster, crab and shrimp macaroni and cheese. It was so yummy that had I been home and not at a public place I would have licked the bowl!) Anyway, I usually eat so low carb I thought for a special dinner I had better bring my Calorie King book with me. Well, it was too dark to read the little book! At another table I saw someone with their smartphone and is was so lit up - I decided the next day to buy one. Didn't know that the apps for iphones and androids are different. I didn't want something where I had to enter in my weight loss goals, exercise everyday etc. I just want the carb info.

I have been using Calorie Counter by FatSecret and it has worked well for me.

That book is great. But yes, a bit annoying to carry around with you.

Just email calorie king and they'll respond with the directions. I wish I knew where I put them! I still have to learn my phone. I wish I had a high school-aged neighbor to teach me. At least I can make a phone call with it so if I need AAA...

Does that one just give you the calories and carbs, or is it part of a weight loss fitness program that you have to enter in a lot stuff for.

You can download the Kindle Reader from Amazon and then buy the Calorie King book for Kindle. For eating out, I use the Restaurant Nutrition ap from the Play Store on your Android Phone.
