Hi to all from the UK,
I finally started on the OmniPod just before Christmas (cool present, huh?) and it seems to be going okay so far.
That said, I’m notoriously hard on electronic gear (read, clumsy) but PDM skins aren’t currently available in the UK; likely due to the OmniPod being marketed under ‘MyLife Diabetes Care’ over here - rather than Insulet - and the current stocks of skins being Insulet branded.
I was wondering if anyone would be prepared to buy a couple from Insulet on my behalf and post to me in the UK? I’d pay you in advance of course (via Paypal?) and would of course cover any costs you incurred for packaging/driving to the post office/coffee for the journey etc.
Anyone up for helping a fellow podder from across the pond?
Thanks in advance (I hope),
Pete.
I just sent you a message but I forgot whether I actually said I was referring to this. I think my son has an extra PDM skin we don’t need - so if you send me a message with your address I’d be happy to send it over. : )
I have an extra white silicon PDM gel skin, I don’t know if that is what you are looking for. I would be happy to send it to you. Just email me your mailing address. Could you in exchange price out the Abbott Freestyle navigator CGMS starter kit only. They are no longer released in the USA, and I really need one. Price when it was available varied by distributor in the USA. Cost is @ $1700 US in Israel. I know it is not needed to have a RX to buy in the UK. Thanks.
Hey peruvianpasohi, thanks for the offer but Natasha has very kindly offered to send me a skin already. Thanks anyway.
When I spoke with Abbott UK about CGM in late November, they advised that they were not selling direct to consumers. Unsure why that was but didn’t pursue it as decided the Dexcom was the way to go. Happy to ask again if it helps though.
