So I received an email from Animas about my insurance coverage late yesterday and called them this morning to find out what was up...or down. The email was in reference to new year and new deductible...higher of course. But...I asked the rep to check the status of my Vibe application and when she did...it was approved by UHC yesterday. So happens that I received the receiver for the G4 Dex yesterday and had received the other G4 components about 10 days ago so I've already got the entire G4 setup including the updated G4.
I have to say that the most surprising aspect of this process has been UHC's handling of the approvals...it has been happily proactive...no apparent hesitation at all and I'm on a Medicare Advantage plan. Now having said that, I've been through the approval process before and had all the ducks in a row including my Diabetes care healthcare office assisting with the process. I made sure they downloaded ALL my most recent data for submission when UHC called for it. USF Diabetes Home for Healthy Living in Tampa rocks it for us. Michele Laine ARNP, CDE understands because she is one of us.
They are absolutely stellar!!!
Congratulations, keep us posted! My ping is too old and out of warranty. But would love to hear feed back about the new Vibe. I love both ping and G4
I had UHC at my last employer, and they rock! Their policy (I'm not sure what it is now) was to approve pumps every 3 years. It was a nice way to keep up with the new technology!
Just got off the phone with Animas...Vibe to be delivered Wednesday
Chose blue cause I'm tired of the grey/black thing.
Copay was $750
Ready for a new pump.
