Apria?

My insurance told me to talk with Apria about getting the Omnipod. Has anyone used them before? Do they cover the Omnipods? Or am I just wasting my time calling all of these customer service reps?

I just looked up “Apria” and they seem to cover home healthcare equipment. It can’t hurt to call them and find out how much they’ll cover. I was lucky with my insurance because they cover me 100% but if they didn’t, I’d call whoever I had to to get the coverage needed. Never hurts to shop around.
Good luck.

Never heard of them, but if they are all that Janet just said they were, pls keep us notified! They sound good to me!

I get my supplies and the omni pod from Apria health care they are called Star medical in Mo. You have BC&BS out of MO?

No, I have Kaiser Permanente. And just found out today that supposedly they DON’T contract with Apria. So either KP is right & they do have a contract, or Apria is right & they don’t have a contract. Oy.

Update: Apria doesn’t deal with any insulin pumps at all. So it looks like we’re going with EdgePark, which I’ve heard good things about.

Edgepark is GREAT! I get my Dexcom and Pod supplies through them, they are easy to get ahold of and know how to deal with troublesome insurance companies (HealthNet of Oregon). Plus their contract price was cheaper than other suppliers.

Good luck on the Pod, I know how frustrating it can be getting different answers from different people.
